Currently there are seven entries in this book series: “DOAWK: The Ugly Truth”, “DOAWK: Roderick Rules”, “DOAWK: Dog Days”, “DOAWK: Do- It- Yourself Book, “The Wimpy Kid Movie Diary” and “DOAWK: The Last Straw” and “ DOAWK”. Each of these books is a pleasure to read for any kid or adult. Bookstores and libraries find it hard to keep these books on shelves. Kids can even read the series online.

Films based on Books
Movies have been made on three of his titles in the popular book series. The first film has the title of the same name and was released in 2010. The second film titled after the second book was released in 2011. The third film based upon the third book of the series has not received a release date yet and will be dependent upon the success of the second film.

The original publisher of this wildly popular series was actually Funbrain.com. This particular web site has over 80 million visits and over 70, 000 kids read it every day. In 2006 a multi book agreement was signed with Harry N. Abrams which turned the series into print. The first book was released in 2007 while the second and third book was released in 2008. 2009 was the release year for the fourth book in the series.
Author of the Year nomination
Currently Jeff Kinney has an Author of the Year nomination from the Children’s Book Awards. Voting is now open in this particular process. Actual decision on the nomination will be later this year.
Jeff Kinney wrote the book in the 1960′s, that is why it is in black and white. Just like the TVs back in those days.
That is not true. Jeff was born on February 19th, 1971 and began publishing his work online since 2004. As for the reason it is in black and white, well, it could have been Jeff’s style of drawing cartoons.
